Que Sera Sera...
Well, we've done it. In one of the most exciting matches of the season The Rams beat Southampton last night on penalties and will now be in the Play - Off Final at the new Wembley on May 28th. This game will be bigger than the FA Cup Final between Man U and Chelsea. There's much more at stake - a place in the Premiership worth £60 million - plus its such a big occasion for the clubs involved.
I'm so happy and relieved we've made it, but feel a bit sorry for the Southampton fans the ex-Derby manager and players who were fantastic. However, we finished 3rd in the Championship, held our nerve in the shoot-out and deserve to be there.
Football - what a game!

Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!
I want to go to the match!
There's only one Billy Davis, One Billy Davis.
Silvana - if you go to Wembley you need to learn this song. You'll soon pick up the tune.
We are Derby. We are Derby. Super Rams. We are Derby. We are Derby. We are Derby. We are Derby. We are Derby.
Keep repeating....
Well, what a game. Have just about recovered from the emotion of it all (and the late night....didn't get home until 2.30am!) - but can categorically say that it was the most exciting football game I've ever been to - real end to end stuff, no holds barred, championship football at it's best with some incredibly vociferous and passionate support from both sides (although we could hardly hear the Derby fans for the noise 5000 Saints fans were making!).
I thought we were dead and buried so many times - after 3 minutes going effectively 3-1 down, when the own goal went in and for most of the last half an hour before Gregorz smacked one in to keep us in it. Going into extra time I wasn't confident - luck wasn't really running our way and I think our players were all incredibly drained having upped their level of effort during normal time to get the win.
The penalties were right in front of me - and it was really men against boys - our guys and keeper all looked really nervous whereas your lads looked relaxed and confident - and that really was the difference in the end....shame it had to be decided on penalties but the generally held view was that we'd put in a brave performance and really had done our best. It just wasn't to be our go, this time.
Looking forward to seeing you on 29th. Are you going to Wembley? Will be a great day out, and wish your lot the best.
Thanks for the Saints-eye view Tom. Sounds amazing. What really pleased me was that there was a lot of respect shown between the clubs - both players and fans -which is really refreshing. Yes - hope to go Wembley along with the rest of the Franco family. Need to get on the case re: tickets. Look forward to telling you all about it when we meet on the 29th.
One Seth Johnson, there's only One Seth Johnson, One Se-e-e-eth Jo-o-o-o-o-hnson,there's only One Seth Johnson.
Can't work out the tune or the timing of We are Derby. We are Derby.Super Rams etc.but you must learn Steve Bloomer's watching if you are going to Wembley.
Can I come too?
We are Derby is sung to the tune of "We are Sailing".
Well, in my head it is.
Nick - are you flying back for it? Getting tickets proving tricky, but am working on it.
James - yes, sort of 'We are Sailing'...but with a bit of a twist.
Angela - don't know the Steve Bloomer song...
