Favourite South London Restaurants

Tooting is renowned for its Indian restaurants. One of the best known vegetarian restaurants is the Kastoori which is always great. However, my favourite at the moment is the Mirch Masala 213 Upper Tooting Road which is a BYO. You can't book a table so not recommended for a big crowd. You often have to wait for a table, but not for very long. Very relaxed, very informal and saw in the window yesterday that its been voted best Indian restaurant by the locals. Not surprised.

If you fancy a Chinese and don't want to go to Chinatown then try China Boulevard in Wandsworth. Have only ever been there for Sunday lunch but its always been good, especially the dim sum. Its a big place by the river and perfect for large gatherings. Has become a family favourite and a great place to meet friends. Apparently they have private rooms for karaoke. May give it a go.

I'm up for a lunch at Mirch Masala with you Tony. The lamb cutlets are superb.
